Insanity Diet – What do I eat while doing this system?

What sort of Insanity Diet should I be on when I do this workout? I hear this all the time from people in my challenge groups, people starting the Insanity workout and actually any program from Beachbody. People want to know what they should eat while doing these systems to maximize their goals of losing weight, gaining muscle or toning. This answer is shocking and some people just can’t believe how simple it really is. Read on to find out what your Insanity Diet should be…
What I should know first before starting any workout and how to build my Insanity Diet!
The first common mistake many people make is to start the workout right away out of excitement. This is more common than you think. I have fallen victim to this early on only to find out I was missing crucial information. You need to read the NUTRITION guide that comes with your program. It is packed with information pertaining to your workout. Whether it is Insanity, P90X, Body Beast or Turbo Fire. You need to read the nutrition guide that applies to your program.
If you don’t you will not only be missing vital information concerning your success, but your nutrition is about 90% of the reason you will succeed. You are what you eat and if you are working out hard, doing cardio or stretching and feeling weak, their might be a reason for it. If you are gaining weight instead of losing it, well you get the picture.You can’t be eating fried foods, pop, chips or any type of junk/processed food while doing this . You need to eat clean and drink water with your meals for your Insanity Diet to succeed.
So what do I need to do First?- The Insanity Diet
The very first thing you need to do is read your Nutrition Guide provided, then find out your BMR. You can google BMR calculator and plug in your info. The weight should be the weight you intend to be at the end of your 30/60/90 day challenge. Be realistic, don’t plug in a figure that makes you lose over 50lb. I doubt you will lose this amount of weight in 2 months. Honestly you will probably need two cycles to lose that kind of weight to be safe don’t you agree.
So for example if I was 250 lbs and I wanted to be 200 lbs, I would put in 220 lbs for this 2 month cycle and go with that figure for calories. Don’t be discouraged by the ads you see. The infomercials of people losing 100 pounds have been doing this for awhile. They didn’t lose this weight in one cycle. I am proof that you can lose up to 25 pounds in 63 days. I wasn’t even that strict with diet because I needed one cheat day to cope with my Insanity Diet.
You can do this too. So first find out your BMR. This will give you your Daily Calories to maintain that new weight you want. After that you can work around your meals to fulfill that amount. Water is free and you should have a big glass with every meal so about 5-6 glasses per day plus 1-2 glasses doing your workout. NO POP!!! NO DIET POP!! just water okay. You can put a little G2 or MIO in there to flavor it up. I would suggest lime or lemon juice but its your call.

Insanity Diet Revealed
Okay so here was my exact Insanity Diet for 63 days during my Insanity workouts. I ate this every day and has one cheat day typically on Sunday. A cheat day doesn’t mean you can eat what ever you want it means that you can have one luxury meal. I chose home made Pizza.
You don’t have to be this strict, remember your nutrition guide gives you plenty and I mean plenty of ideas for Breakfasts, Lunches, Dinners and Snacks. I chose to make my life simple by buying the same items and preparing them ahead of time on a Sunday. This way every meal was ready to go for the week and there was no chance of me failing my Insanity Diet.
I figured out what my BMR was and then went from there breaking my day into 6-7 meals.
Here are my meals for a typical day.
Meal 1 05:00 SHAKEOLOGY SHAKE with 1% Milk 1 CUP (This is by far the best meal of the day. I start my day off with a complete meal loaded with vitamins and minerals with protein.)
Meal 2 08:00 Breakfast – I called it my MIKE McMUFFIN
4 sliced of turkey bacon,1 slice of tomato, 2 hard boiled eggs sliced on a whole wheat English muffin
Meal 3 10:30 Snack – 1cup of 1% cottage cheese with 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen wild blue berries
Meal 4 12:30 Lunch – Medium sized fresh Salad (iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, radishes and peppers), turkey sandwich( 4 slices of turkey all natural, 1 slice of tomato, mustard on 2 slices of rye bread.
Meal 5 3:00 Snack – 1cup of 1% cottage cheese with 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen wild blue berries
Meal 6 6:00 Dinner- 6oz of either chicken, steak or fish, 1 cup of steamed veggies, 1 yam. (you can also have a salad in place of veggies)
Post workout meal after dinner @ 8:30pm was the P90X results and recovery drink. worth 200 calories. This helped me heal and gave me energy during my workouts and was crucial in my Insanity Diet.
I hope this breakdown helps some of you people out there. You have to understand that preparation is half the battle if you meals are all ready and made ahead of time the chances of you failing is less. You will be constantly feeding your body with what it needs throughout the day and you won’t have those slips where you go off craving something. I chose my diet plan because it was easy to shop for and it uses the same ingredients which kept my bill down at the grocery store. If you have time on your side feel free like I said to use the Nutrition guide provided as they have wonderful healthy recipes and start from there.
